Its been a couple of years since I'd done a serious Target collection run. My last run was the Neiman Marcus collection released during Christmas and since I lived in a smaller city (San Luis Obispo) at the time, all of the items were still on the shelf by the time I arrived in the afternoon.

Not so much now!

I actually wasn't going to go to Target but when I had gone online and saw that the collection was available, I panicked! I really wanted the super cute jumper for Lily (Lily in Lilly... love it!) and everything was sold out online. So it was early enough (7:30am) where I dressed L, jumped in the car and went out!

Two random things:
1. My hubby must have thought I was nuts because i'm never that bright eyed and ready to go at 7:30am on a Sunday... and
2. I'd like to thank my precious Lily for waking up at 5:30am today because if it weren't for that wake-up call, I wouldn't have scored these goodies for her!

We got there in 10 minutes and as I was driving, I thought to myself that no one here in their right mind would be at Target this early for this stuff. Boy was I wrong!

When we walked in, there were probably 40 women with carts piled high in the Women's section. I panicked again and thought maybe this was the only end cap and I wouldn't get to my that precious jumpsuit. As I walked by these women, there were brightly colored bowls, umbrellas, towels... Clearly they hit up the housewares area before tackling women's.

After seeing the giant group, I made a beeline for what I thought was the toddler's area. I grabbed a jumpsuit in an XS but quickly realized I was in the girls section. So, I threw that down and quickly walked to the toddlers area. That endcap was FULLY STOCKED and not a soul around! I was able to grab the piece I wanted and a few more that I didn't even consider!

Who was a happy camper? This lady! L was pretty excited too... when we walked in, she was laughing and screaming! She could probably feel momma's endorphins kicking in!

Feeling high as a kite (i'm not ashamed to say that shopping gives me a rush lol), I decided to meander and check out the other areas to see what was left.

Housewares was pretty much empty except for a few pieces like candleholders, some string lights, a super cute platter which I should've picked up...

Girl's was mostly untouched when I got there but was starting to thin out when I had come back around.

Beauty still had its endcap intact!

Women's had a decent amount of product but mostly in L-XL.

I didn't get a chance to see the SHOE section either.

I talked to quite a few ladies that said they had arrived at 6am. I spoke with more that arrived at 8am to find a line that snaked around to the back of the building. Online wasn't such a great experience after reading Twitter. With all the ruccus, the site had crashed and then after only a few minutes, everything online was gone!

I overheard a few tidbits for shopping during collection times and I thought i'd share them with you. Keep in mind, these are for shopping in stores only. Online is a whole other beast that I cannot speak to:

1. Do your HOMEWORK. I never thought school would condition me for shopping but it most certainly has! Make sure you check out the collection's lookbook before you go in or shop online. I don't prefer to blind shop and its good to know pricing of the pieces you want before you go. Also, make sure you know what time Target opens and maybe even study the layout of the store if you really want to be prepared.

2. Get in line...EARLY. This really can make or break whether or not you get the item you can't live without.

3. Be STRATEGIC. If you know your way around the store, be sure to take the quickest and most direct path to the area you want to get to first.

4. Grab a buddy and SHOP MULTIPLE STORES. Grab some friends or family (or your hubby if he's up for it) and split up! Choose a store and then follow steps 1 & 2.

5. Hang out by the DRESSING ROOM. As I was quickly heading to the toddler area, I noticed a large group by the dressing room. I thought they all had stuff to try on! As it turns out, half of them were there to try and snag what others wanted. One woman I talked to said she was there pretty much the whole time and gathered quite a bit of stuff!

6. Wander the STORE. As I was checking out other areas, there were pieces of LP here and there that were abandoned along the way. Coveted pieces! I didn't want to leave them behind but definitely wasn't down to have the hubby give me the eye when I pulled out a size 7-8 girl's dress when Lily is only 11 months old.

7. Don't forget to watch the CHECK OUT areas! As I was checking out, I talked to the cashier who had been there since 8am. Her station was PILED HIGH with housewares stuff... towels, plates, a super cute blanket that I really should've snagged...and other stuff she said was under her station. Apparently two different women had rang up for $1000 and $770 and my guess was they didn't want the stinkeye from their husbands either, so they ditched some stuff. The registers are a great area to look for last minute ditched stuff!

Did you get out to Target for Lilly? What did you purchase?

Happy Frrrrriday dolls! I hadn't posted anything all week because I've been working on the design of my blog. It's been YEARS since I'd touched it. Initiallly, I bought a template from a person on ETSY but she went out of business and my page's images and links stopped working. I couldn't figure out why it looked terrible...until I figured out she'd exited the blog designing game and didn't let anyone know. :( So I've been trying to figure this out on my own. Hope you guys like the new design! Obviously there are going to be some glitches over the next few weeks but its better than it had been!

On to the main event! I've been LOVING graphic tees lately! Since I basically throw on whatever is directly near me in the morning, its typically a t-shirt and jeans/shorts/yoga pants. I feel like there has been a graphic tee explosion lately on Instagram! I've purchased a few and am hoping to make a video haul in a few days. Here are some of the ones that have caught my eye! I really love the ILY Couture shirt with the rows of hearts. I saw a girl wearing it on Instagram and its on the list to buy!

I thought i'd give you options on what to pair them with. I stayed with denim because there are so many styles and colors out there that you could easy change a look with denim material now.

Of course, you can't forget to add shoes to this outfit. I chose a variety of styles and color because I most graphic tees lately have been black, white or gray and you DEFINITELY need some color in this equation. Of course you should be careful not to add too much color. I did choose some colored jeans below so make sure you don't over it.
Hope you all have a Happy Easter!

Happy Frrrrrriday!

I'm not sure about how your week went but mine seemed to drag! The hubby's car has been in the shop so he's borrowed mine and I feel like if I don't have a car and we stay local and walk around near our house, time seems to go slowly. Weekly visits to Target kick things up a notch, ya know? ;)

Since Easter is approaching, I thought I'd give you my top choices for Easter dresses. The weather (out this way, at lease) has been borderline Summer status! I believe it was 86 in my neck of the woods. And we've broken a few records already. That does come with a price, California is in a crazy bad drought and we have reserves left for 1 year (according to the news). But, it is so sunny and warm which means its time to ditch the layers and show a little skin!

I picked a few of these dresses because of the color. Spring fashion always means C-O-L-O-R! Here are my favorites! I do love a good maxi dress and the BCBG maxi in the top row is calling my name! I can see a floppy hat paired with it. I think my favorite though is the yellow lace shift dress from TopShop. I do like to show some leg and the cut and color of it grabs my attention. And you could dress it up with a super blingy necklace, or coordinate it with blue and white for a nautical look. And neutral wedges would be a must!

Miss Lily will most certainly be out and about in her finest. I found a really adorable eyelet dress for her and will be posting pictures soon! Here are my favorites in the baby department.

What are your favorites?

Happy Saturday all! If you're in Sacramento and looking for stuff to do, I've got a couple of events for you to check out...

For all the parents out there: Head on over to Trumpette for the Sacramento Baby and Toddler Expo! Trumpette itself is a super-chic children's boutique is hosting the event and there will be vendors of all types. If you're registered, the first 100 people will get a SWAG bag filled with goodies! I went last year when I was preggo and scored some super cute socks and onesies! I also got a Howdy Cow for $10!

Trumpette is at 2020 I Street in Sacramento.

For all the Fashionista/ers: Courtney Kerr will be at Macy's at Roseville today at 2pm hosting their Spring Fashion show and doing a Meet and Greet! Courtney is the a super fashionable blogger from Dallas who had her own show on Bravo called, Courtney Loves Dallas. Go check her out!

Happy Friday! We've been having some seriously sunny and warm weather here in Northern California! On Wednesday, the high was 80 degrees! I was born in the Central Valley which is typically hot in the Spring and Summer months so I LA-LA-LOVE when the temperature gets above 68 degrees.

For a few years, I've had the same two sunglasses: a pair of Marc Jacobs wide sunnies and aviators from Banana Republic.

But this year, I wanted to try something new. I've seen so many fun styles come out that are totally not typically I would go for but I feel that I am in need of a makeover. I've had the same look for five years and am dying to do something new. I've been looking at new hairstyles, different wardrobe looks...and sunnies! I think sunnies can totally change the look and feel of your wardrobe.

I bought some of the sunnies from Forever 21 and am saving for the Dior's. I think that Forever 21 offers snazzy looking dupes of the real deals. Check out the Pink shades from Forever 21 and the black Karen Walkers (first row last set). They look allllllmost alike! Which ones are your faves?
Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Here is a little of what went down in my world last week...

Happy Monday! Its currently raining here in San Luis Obispo. And as I sit here typing, the sun is peeking out from the clouds. I'm definitely a summer baby so am sad to have to put away my sun dresses but excited to get out my jackets, scarves and boots for fall and winter. I've been on the hunt for new scarves lately. My favorite fall trend last year was the infinity scarf and I am bringing it back this year. Here are some of my favorites so far. I'm definitely going to pick up the Ann Taylor Loft scarf (see middle). Besides it being plush and absolutely adorable with different shades of pink through it, Ann Taylor is pledging to give 25% of full price purchases of each item toward the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. There are some really cute items in the collection too! And Guiliana Rancic is their designated spokesperson for the campaign. Cute cute and cute all for a great cause!

I have fallen in love with sweaters with sequined print on them! I had been eyeballing matching sweaters that Kendall and Kylie Jenner were wearing and had finally tracked down the designer, Markus Lupfer, who is based out of London. His work is kitschy and has flecks of 80's built in.
