Fall Fashion Trend: Bralettes

1:21 AM

Bralettes were this summer’s effortless fashion trend. Worn under flowy tank tops or making a statement with a pencil skirt, it takes any look and brings the sexy back, times ten. Pinterest and Instagram don’t lie!

With the fall season on the way, bralettes are making their way first onto the runway and hitting the street in a sexy, sophisticated and effortless way.  I love the way a bralette gives a hint of sexiness and romance. Or gives your typical casual outfit a taste of edge.  Here are my top 5 ways to dress a bralette for fall.

1.     Under a blazer: Peeking out from under a blazer and paired with pointed pumps, a pencil skirt and a chunky necklace, a bralette softens the look and makes you wonder what else is under there. Style tip: Only wearing a bralette with a blazer means you can’t walk around with it unbuttoned!

2.     Under a tee: This look is all over Pinterest and Instagram and I love it for its effortless and super casual look. Worn with a distressed skinny jean, flowy tee, a messy bun or mermaid-worthy locks and layered necklaces, the bralette added to this outfit adds a subtle “I-slept-in-sexiness-and-woke-up-this-way” vibe.

(One of my faves, Andee Layne, rockin' the bralette look!)

3.     With a sheer blouse: If work allows, take your professional edge up a notch by wearing a sheer blouse with a bralette under it with a contrasting color!

4.     Peeking out of a sweater: Bringing the boho to cooler temps, wearing a bralette under a sweater makes even the boxiest of sweaters, combined with a slouchy boyfriend jean, super sexy.

Love the delicate lace peeking out. As seen on Pinterest here.

5.     At the gym: My favorite look (and my current mom uniform) is a cutout muscle tee, yoga pants and a bright sports bra – the strappier the better!

I'd hit the gym in this! Anthropologie
