Pumpkin Pride

There have been
so many gorgeous pumpkin displays on Pinterest and in my daily blog
list. Here are a few pieces and where I gathered my inspiration as seen above:
A. My Sweet Savannah and her DIY Chevron Pumpkins
B. A Wedding Decor website featuring monogrammed pumpkins
C. Better Homes and Gardens section on pumpkins
This year, I decided that I wanted to paint and design on my pumpkins
rather than carve them. It's a shame that we carve them and they just
sit out to rot, as beautifully cut as they are. While at Target, I saw
craft pumpkins out and scooped a few of them up in different sizes. I am
quite the spazz when it comes to being crafty as I tend to change plans
on color or concept a few times before execution. For example, tonight,
I was going to do something with an old pair of floral fishnets but decided on a more sparkly approach.
And here they are! I wish the image of the white pumpkin with the copper glitter came out better. It is super sparkly all the way down to the base of the pumpkin! I found a super fine copper glitter and with after using spray glue (mostly on the top part of the pumpkin), I blew glitter all over it, making sure to cover mostly near the stem so it had an ombré effect. As for the little monogrammed guys, I spray painted the taupe-y gray and inserted flat, silver pushpins into the pumpkin (C is for Chris, my fiance). For my monogrammed pumpkin, I spray painted it white and then printed out a stencil that I had cut using my Silhouette Cameo. I peeled off the "m" and (lightly) spray glued it to the pumpkin, then took a sponge brush and some shiny taupe-y spray paint and dabbed it on the "m" until there was an outline of it. Finished with a clear gloss and voila! I still have one more pumpkin left and am trying to attempt a chevron...we'll see if I get that far.

I love the way the "m" looks on that pumpkin you made.
